Who are we?
The Wirral Amateur Radio Society has been on the air since 1936, across a variety of locations over the years. We are currently based at Hooton Part Trust where we operate on their monthly Open Days and other events.
We operate across a wide range of modes and bands from conventional HF and VHF to Microwave and Satellite Amateur Televison. Whichever part of the hobby interests you, we'll have something for you!
License Courses
We offer full training courses in our dedicated Radio Technology Study Center for all license levels, from Foundation to Full.

Events
Come and see us at one of our many events this year, as we celebrate the Society's 90th year!
We regularly operate special event stations at historic locations across the Wirral, such as Bidston Hill Lighthouse under GB2BHL and Hoylake Lifeboat Station under GB2HLS, as well as the occasional Amateur Radio Direction Finding and SOTA expeditions.
During events at Hooton Park, we operate under our Special Event Station callsign, GB2HP.
